Our support team works closely with each franchisee from the time a franchise agreement is executed until each unit is open and operating smoothly, as well as support thereafter as required. From training and field support to marketing and development, each.
As a Gatti's franchisee, you are responsible for locating your own restaurant sites. Our development team will assist by conducting site analyses of each location selected in order to better define an "A" site. Once you have located a potential site that fits the Gatti's site criteria for either a Gatti's Pizza or Gattitown unit, the development team will assist you in completing a site evaluation. Once this evaluation is completed, you will submit this form for further review to the Franchise Sales & Development Department. Once the site evaluation is submitted, a representative from the Franchise Sales & Development team will conduct a site visit and an assessment, which will then be subject to final approval by the Company.
The Franchise Sales & Development Team is available to offer guidance based on the lease that you will sign. We will not get involved with lease negotiations or purchase agreements, however we do have a "tenant friendly" lease which we have obtained from our real estate counsel to assist you in the negotiation process. You should have an attorney representing you who has experience in real estate and lease negotiations.
Our Design and Construction Department will provide a floor plan and specifications for each location at no charge to you. An architect will use our plan and typical specifications to adapt to your approved location. After the Design and Construction Department approves the restaurant plans, you will be responsible for obtaining bids and monitoring the construction. Some assistance will be provided by the Design and Construction Department in qualifying a competent general contractor. Progress and final inspections will be made to ensure brand identity and a cohesive company atmosphere.
As a part of the support provided by our Design and Construction Department, they will recommend pre-approved suppliers for all FF&E (furniture, fixtures, & equipment). In some instances, specific negotiated pricing will be available.
The Gatti's Supply Chain and Logistics team will manage the entire supply chain to ensure the highest-quality products are delivered to your door at the lowest possible cost. By leveraging our size and bundling our volume with key manufacturers, scrutinizing quoted freight rates, and partnering with world-class distributors, this team will protect the integrity of supply while watching for opportunities to reduce costs. This strategy covers all proprietary food items, other food and paper materials, uniforms, restaurant supplies, cleaning supplies, chemicals, small wares and equipment necessary to operate a successful Gatti's location.
The Research and Development team is continually working on the enhancement of existing and new products. The R&D team recognizes that in today's competitive restaurant environment even a market leader must create new products to satisfy consumer demand. This is vital to increasing business traffic, which leads to increased sales. The R&D team works closely with the Gatti's Franchise Advisory Council (FAC) in developing new products. Each new product or enhancement of an existing product is first tested thoroughly before being tested in our Company restaurants and select franchise markets. The FAC then approves new products before they areintroduced to the entire Gatti's franchise community.
Once you become part of the Gatti's family, our marketing team offers effective, innovative solutions that will help enhance each franchisee's local store marketing (LSM) and branding efforts. Gatti's requires its franchisees to spend 4 percent of gross sales on marketing initiatives. Of that 4 percent, 3 percent is allocated for local media and marketing initiatives and the other 1 percent is contributed to the marketing development fund.
Communication is a key ingredient to the success of our franchise community. Gatti's has developed an online community portal that allows franchisees access to digital content including training, marketing and operational materials. With this portal, the community has 24/7 access to the latest information regarding customer feedback, branding strategies, marketing campaigns and other Gatti's news.
