Gatti's Pizza finds success with grassroots marketing campaign
(
Pizza Today - 24 March 2008)
Gatti's Pizza kicked off 2008 with a resolution to make sure their customers felt Gatti's "Apizziation!" During the months of January and February, customers were able to order any large pizza with up to 5 toppings for just $8.88. This Austin-based customer appreciation campaign offered more than just great pizza at a great price -- customers received thank-you notes from the Gatti's team with each order placed.
"Gatti's really wanted their customers to know how much they are appreciated, and the customers took notice," said Gatti's spokesperson Ed Cohen. "We saw a 10-percent increase in sales of the featured promotional product as compared with 2007's promotion."
The promotion included thank-you notes with each order, instituting staff training to make sure each customer was satisfied, and a nationwide commitment to respond to all customer issues within 24 hours of a comment or complaint.
This $8.88 offer went through February, but Gatti's plans to offer this promotion annually to their customers, while the other components of improved customer service response time and guaranteed great service will stick around for good. Gatti's knows that their customers are number one, and there is no better way to start a new year than to appreciate their loyal patrons around Austin. Gatti's plans to roll this promotion out as a nationwide campaign by 2009.
